Eigentlich ist der Soundtrack zu allen drei Teilen unglaublich bemerkenswert und eindrucksvoll – stellvertretend hierfür einmal das Main Theme, welches einem immer mal wieder unterkommt. Ein Kommentar im Videoportal lautet passenderweise:
„Amen jaysong, the ’statement‘ at 1:23 is amazing beyond words. A triumphal shout of victory not unlike the opening to Star Wars or Superman. Both begin like someone mustering strength and ending in triumph. This is my favorite musical moment of the trilogy along with the ‚Lighting of the Fires at Gondor from ROTK‘. Theme wise, I adore the music of the goblins and urok-hai, reminds me of Darth Vader’s Theme‘. Shore really wrote great stuff and this whole symphony is awesome.“
